Lift screen advertising in Malaysia

Small screens, captive audience, real dwell time — the most under-rated format in Malaysian out-of-home, and often the most affordable way in.

Why lift screens work

A highway screen competes for a driver's attention for a couple of seconds at speed. A lift screen has a viewer standing still, a metre away, with nothing else to look at, for the length of the ride. That is a fundamentally different attention product.

The other difference is repetition. The same people use the same lifts several times a day, five days a week. Frequency builds without buying additional inventory — which is why lift networks tend to punch above their screen size on message recall.

Where the screens are

  • Corporate office towers — reaching working professionals and decision-makers during the working day. Strong for B2B, recruitment, financial services and F&B near the building.
  • Residential condominiums and apartments — reaching households on the way in and out of home.
  • Shopping malls and hotels — reaching shoppers and visitors closer to a spending decision.

Through partner networks, Advin can access lift and lobby screens across 80+ buildings, largely concentrated in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, spanning corporate towers, residential developments, malls and hotels. The current building list, screen counts and availability are confirmed in the media deck.

What lift screens are good for — and not

  • Good for: targeting a specific building, district or audience type; B2B and recruitment messaging; longer or more detailed creative; campaigns that need frequency on a modest budget.
  • Good for: QR codes and calls to action — the viewer is stationary and holding a phone, which almost never applies on a roadside screen.
  • Less suited to: mass-reach brand launches that need very large numbers quickly. Pair them with roadside or highway formats for that.

Practical points before booking

  • Confirm the buildings, not just the network name — audience quality varies enormously between a prime corporate tower and a suburban apartment block.
  • Check screen count per building and operating hours.
  • Ask about spot length and loop composition; indoor loops commonly run shorter spots than roadside.
  • Produce creative for a small, close-range screen: fewer words, larger type, and a QR code if you want a response.
What is lift screen advertising?

Digital screens installed inside lifts or in lift lobbies, playing advertising to people waiting for or riding the lift. Because the viewer is stationary and close to the screen with little else to look at, dwell time and attention are typically higher than roadside formats.

Is lift screen advertising cheaper than billboards?

Entry cost is usually lower than a premium highway or city digital site, which makes lift networks a common starting point for smaller budgets. Value depends on whether the buildings match your audience — a well-matched building list can outperform a larger, less relevant roadside screen.

Who is lift screen advertising best for?

Brands targeting a specific building, district or audience type. It works particularly well for B2B, recruitment, financial services, property, and food and beverage outlets near the building. It is less suited to mass-reach launches that need very large audience numbers quickly.

Can I choose which buildings my ad appears in?

Building selection is possible subject to availability. Audience quality varies a lot between a prime corporate tower and a suburban residential block, so it is worth confirming the specific building list rather than buying a network name.
